Departing from the historic battlefield, this trail follows sites related to the decisive Battle of Sekigahara including Ogaki Castle, the base of the Western Army, Sunomata Castle, which was constructed in one night in the middle of the battle, and the Nagara River area, which was the scene of an attack at Gifu Castle. This is really the ultimate cycling trail that takes in the historical sites related to Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, and Ieyasu, the three military commanders who ruled over the whole country during the Sengoku Period (Period of Warring States).
